#304 Limestone is a crushed limestone aggregate made up of pieces up to about 1½ inches in size mixed with limestone dust (fines). The combination of stone and fines allows the material to compact extremely well, creating a solid and stable base.
It is commonly used as a base material for:

Because the fines fill the gaps between the larger stones, #304 limestone locks together when compacted, providing excellent load-bearing strength and drainage.
